Position Summary Information:

Department: Biological Sciences

Job Summary/Basic Function: Lake Superior State University seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Conservation Biology. Preferred start date August 2013. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory courses in Natural Resource Management and Conservation Biology, an upper level course in Human Dimensions and other courses based on department needs (e.g. Survey of General Biology and Natural History of the Vertebrates). The successful candidate will also be able to develop courses that reflect his/her interests and expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:  Doctoral degree in Conservation Biology or closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising, an interest in including undergraduates in research and in interacting with students outside of class. The successful candidate should also have an interest in collaborating with other faculty, government and/or conservation agencies. Scholarly activity and university service are also expected of the successful candidate.

Physical Demands: Be able to accompany students on field trips; be able to lift up to 25 pounds
